and mary (smith) Reyn- olds. she was united in marriage to Philip J. dvorak on de- cember 29, 1956, in Oxford, iowa. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2013, after 56 years of marriage. Nora attended marycrest College and earned a degree in Childhood development from iowa state university.
she worked as a social worker for Gerard of iowa in mason City and for the iowa department of Human services. she retired as the director of Refugee Re-settlement Program for the di- ocese of davenport in 1999. she resettled hundred of families from Vietnam and Bosnia. Nora was an active parishioner at st. Paul the apostle Cath- olic Church, and part of their social action Committee as well as the she also was a part of Quad City interfaith, Churches united, One Church One Child of iowa, iowa Catholic Conference and their subcommittee on immigration, the dav- enport Civil Rights Commission, davenport Community advi- sory Panel, attacking trafficking, a founder of the Big Broth- ers-Big sisters Program in davenport, and a member of the scott County New Born safe Haven.

Nora was a ass as described by her grand- daughter. although she accomplished a great deal in her life- time of service to others, she remained very humble. she was the proud recipient of the among award during the Pacem in terris Peace and Freedom award ceremony at st. ambrose university and was on the list of people to pray for at the Vatican.
Nora loved athletics, particularly iowa Hawk- eye football. she was also an amazing seamstress. survivors include her children: Virginia dvorak, Rancho mi- rage, California, Laura (Joe) Cullen, iowa City, iowa, William (Julie) dvorak, Cape Coral, Florida, and mark (marti) dvorak, Waseca, minnesota daughter-in-law, Cherie dvorak (Philip, deceased), Columbus, Georgia, son-in-law, Jim Juhl (ann, de- ceased), Littleton, Colorado; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grand- children; and a brother, Rev. Nancy was born on august 23, 1925, in davenport, iowa, to Harold and Grace Noth, the third of their three children. Nancy graduated from im- maculate Conception acade- my and marycrest College in davenport, and then moved to New york City, where she spent most of her adult life. Nancy had a long career there with union Carbide Corpora- tion, walking to and from work in midtown manhattan from her upper east side apartment. Following her retirement from union Carbide, she worked for several more years at the Hele- na Rubenstein Foundation, also in New york City. in 2012, she moved to Wisconsin to be nearer to family.
Nancy is survived by her nieces and nephews: William (mar- cia Baumhover) of des moines, iowa; Peter of Kansas City, missouri; Christopher (Janet) of davenport, iowa; Katherine (James) shadid of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin; and anne (Hen- ry) Chiu of Brookfield, Wisconsin. she also is survived by nine great-nieces and nephews. she was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers donald and James; her dear sister-in-law, Rosemary; and two nieces-in-law, andrea (dolan) Noth and susan (devlin) Noth. during her time in New york, Nancy came back to dav- enport regularly. she was there for every holiday, and each year joined Jim and family vacation in door Coun- ty, Wisconsin.

Joanne was a minister with the assembly of God Church. she spent a significant amount of her life officiating weddings and funerals, holding church services in nursing homes, providing pastoral care to those in the hospital and facilitating bible studies. Joanne also had a food and clothing ministry for many years.
she enjoyed do- ing all sorts of needlework, including crocheting and sewing.
