Nicondra: More rain coverage into the eveningNEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A surge of tropical moisture is pushing north around high pressure to the east allowing for more widespread rain around. Clouds and rain around the region are keeping high temperatures in check with most locations topping out in the upper 80s and low 90s. Showers and storms are widespread across southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast with about 80 percent coverage. Look for storms to linger a bit later into the evening fueled by the tropical Gulf moisture. Elevated rain chances will stick around through the end of the week. High pressure will spread sinking air west over the weekend helping to return rain coverage to more normal 30 to 40 percent range.10 hours ago
